The Stables is for owners of several cars, or one car that deserves standing attention, who want the pleasure of ownership without running the operation behind it. The servicing, the storage, the transport, the renewals, the records and the plan, coordinated through one number, with Alex accountable for the lot.
The problem it removes
Collections drift. Servicing slips a season. The MOT is remembered at the wrong moment. Three specialists hold three different versions of a car's history, and nobody holds the whole picture. The cars are fine, mostly, but they are never quite ready, and the admin sits in the back of your mind like a low hum.
The Stables replaces the hum with a calendar, a file and a person.
The annual collection review
Once a year, the whole collection is looked at properly: condition, usage, costs, values, insurance, storage, what is working and what is not, and what to buy, keep, improve or sell next. It ends in a written review you can act on, or ignore in comfort. It is the spine of the relationship, and it is where every Stables engagement begins.
What continuing care covers
Between reviews: maintenance and servicing oversight with the right specialists; storage placement and oversight; transport arranged when cars need to move; renewals, registrations and administration handled on time; acquisitions and disposals supported within the plan; valuations coordinated annually; and event or touring preparation when the diary calls for it.
The records
Every car gets a maintained digital file: history, invoices, specifications, photographs, keys and quirks. When you sell, the file sells the car. When you insure, the file answers the questions. When something goes wrong at 5pm on a Friday, the file knows which specialist last touched the car.
Who does the work
Alex advises, plans and coordinates. The wrenching, storing, moving, detailing and restoring are done by specialist partners chosen for each job, briefed properly and held to account. Davey & Daughters owns no storage, no workshop and no transporter, and will never pretend otherwise. What you are paying for is judgement, coordination and one accountable point of contact.
What it does not include
Regulated advice on insurance, finance, tax or law (introductions to qualified providers only). Round-the-clock standby, unless specifically agreed in writing. Anybody pushing you to buy more cars; the plan is allowed to say "nothing this year."
Fees for this kind of work
An annual retainer, quoted after the first collection review, sized to the collection and the workload rather than a tier chart. Projects, such as a restoration or an acquisition, are scoped separately. Third-party costs are always separate and approved in advance. Details on the Fees page.
Questions about The Stables
Do you store the cars yourselves?
No. Storage is placed with vetted facilities that suit each car and location, and overseen on your behalf.
Can you take over gradually?
Yes. Most clients start with the annual review and hand over the coordination piece by piece as trust builds.
Whose records are they?
Yours. The files are built in your name and handed over in full if we ever part ways.
Is there a minimum number of cars?
No. Complexity matters more than count. One significant car with real workload qualifies; six trouble-free moderns might not need this at all, and you will be told so.
