Terms of Business, in plain English

Who you are dealing with

Alexander Davey, trading as Davey & Daughters. Buyer-side only: no stock is held, no cars are sold, and no seller commission is taken.

How work is agreed

Every engagement starts with a written scope: what the work covers, what it costs, what it excludes, and how long it is expected to take. Nothing is charged before that is agreed.

Fees and costs

Fees follow the structures on the Fees page and are fixed in the engagement letter. Third-party costs (inspections, transport, storage, import charges and similar) are separate, itemised, and approved by you before they are incurred. Any potential referral fee from an introduction is disclosed before you act on it.

What Davey & Daughters is not

Not a dealer, auctioneer or broker for sellers. Not a provider of legal, tax, insurance or regulated financial advice; introductions are made to qualified providers where useful. Physical and technical work (inspection, transport, storage, servicing, restoration) is delivered by specialist third parties, coordinated on your behalf.

Cancellation and ending an engagement

Defined assignments can be ended at any stage; work completed to that point is charged as set out in the engagement letter. Retained relationships carry a notice period, stated in writing. Your files are yours and are handed over in full.

Confidentiality

Client identities, holdings and movements are not discussed or published. Anything that could identify you is published only with your written consent.

Complaints

If something is not right, tell Alex directly at alex@daveyanddaughters.co.uk. Complaints are acknowledged promptly and answered in writing.
