How it works
Most first messages to Davey & Daughters are two sentences long. Here is what happens after that, and exactly what you are committed to at each point.
1. A conversation
You describe the situation: a car, a search, a collection, a problem. Alex replies personally, usually within one working day, with an honest first view, including "you do not need me for this" when that is true. Commitment so far: none.
2. A written brief and scope
If it makes sense to proceed, the job is written down: what you want, what matters, what would rule an option out, what the work costs and what it does not include. You sign when you are comfortable and not before. Commitment: the agreed fee for the agreed scope, and nothing beyond it.
3. The evidence
The work produces a file, not a feeling. Market evidence, history, enquiries, inspection findings, costs and risks, assembled so you can see the reasoning, not just the conclusion. This is the Buyer-Side File, and it is yours.
4. The decision
A plain recommendation: buy, pause, walk away, restore, hold, sell, or change course, with the reasoning shown. You decide. Nothing in the fee structure rewards pushing you forward.
5. The coordination
Once decided, Alex runs the moving parts: negotiation, purchase, inspection follow-ups, import, transport, storage, specialists, paperwork. You get one point of contact and a file that stays current. For continuing relationships, this step simply never ends; it becomes The Stables or The Motor House.
The records
Everything material ends up in writing and in your file. If we part ways, the file goes with you, complete.
Common questions
What does the first conversation cost?
Nothing.
How quickly do things move?
A Deal Review moves in days. A search moves at the speed of the market. A collection review is scheduled at first availability. You will always know which clock applies.
Can I stop at any stage?
Yes. Each stage completes cleanly, and the file is yours either way.
A calm process, agreed before money moves
It usually starts with two sentences. Send yours and see what Alex would do.
