Davey & Daughters is a founder-led, buyer-side private automotive advisory run by Alex Davey in the UK. It acts for buyers, owners and collectors of significant cars, advising directly and coordinating specialist partners for everything around the cars, from a first serious purchase to a collection across several homes.
Why the business exists
The specialist car market is built to serve sellers. Davey & Daughters exists to put one capable, independent person on the buyer's side of the table, for the purchase and for everything that follows it.
What Alex does himself
The judgement and the accountability. The briefs, the market reading, the advert interrogation, the seller conversations, the shortlists, the negotiation, the coordination, the awkward questions and the plain recommendations. When you message the number, Alex answers it.
What Alex does not pretend to do
Rebuild engines, paint cars, ship containers or underwrite insurance. The people who do those things well are the network, chosen because Alex has seen their work and would stand behind it. His job is knowing what good looks like, and who to trust when it is not his own hands doing the work.
The technology, honestly
Software watches the market across the UK and overseas, compares listings, flags anomalies and organises the evidence. It makes the work faster and the coverage wider. It does not choose cars, judge sellers or make recommendations. The AI runs the numbers. I run the relationship.
The name
Davey & Daughters is Alex and his three daughters. The name is a promise, not a flourish: every car is held to the standard he would want if he were buying it for them.
They turn up in the story of the business the way cars turn up in family life, which is to say constantly, and usually with sticky fingers on the glass.
Boundaries
Not a dealer, not a broker for sellers, not a storage business, not a workshop, and not a source of regulated financial, legal or tax advice. Those boundaries are what make the advice worth having.
